The Queen sends messages of congratulations to those celebrating particular milestone birthdays and anniversaries. These can be applied for three weeks before the date (or five weeks before if done in an online application) and up to six months after the date is passed. The Royal Lord-Lieutenant is able to assist in these applications where necessary.
