Stirling County in dismay as rugby pushed to 2021

Stirling County Rugby Club president Lorne Boswell has expressed total dismay at the new ruling by the Scottish Government to set the return of Scottish Rugby matchdays back until 2021.

An official announcement was made that, instead of a return to rugby in November, which the club had been fully preparing to do, the government has since declared that there will definitely be no rugby played until after the new year.

Boswell, who has been the president-elect at County for the past few years said: “Everything was going great there for a while. The club had met all the regulations that were set in place and we thought we were making positive steps towards a safe return to match days. Though it looks like I was wrong.”

Stirling County won’t return to the pitch until at least 2021

Boswell alongside other members at Stirling County have expressed their complete distaste for this decision.

Club vice-president John White said: “It is simply sickening to think that clubs were aligning to all the regulations that were clearly set out with the aim of a return to matches in November, only to receive the news that there will definitely be no rugby played until after the new year.”

The quest for a return to rugby at Stirling County Rugby Club goes on and no doubt the club will leave no stones unturned in doing so.
