Loch Lomond Shores visitor centre is hosting an amateur photography competition, asking residents and visitors for their best snaps of their area.

The competition is taking place from October 31 to November 20 and features two age categories of under and over 16.

Henry Hung, 23, is a photography enthusiast and sees this competition is a great opportunity. “With this contest, I can first practice what I like, photography, [but] it is also a chance for me to get people to know my work, as entrants can have their photographs shown in an exhibition after the competition.”

Loch Lomond Shores are hosting two photography competitions to find the best photos of their beautiful scenery

I’m not sure yet of what I’m going to take pictures of. I’ll probably just walk around and look for some nice views or scenes. With photography you often have to improvise with the light, the particular scene and other things.

Hung explained his love for the craft. “Photography is something awesome. You can catch some specific moments that even a video couldn’t.

I’m really happy that even during this pandemic this kind of event is still running.”

Prizes for the under 16 competition include free children’s tickets to Treezone at Loch Lomond for the 2021 season and a family pass to the Bird of Prey Centre.

The winner of the over 16 competition will win a £200 voucher for Loch Lomond Leisure, which can be spent on various watersports and paddlesports.

The best photos will be displayed in an exhibition at Loch Lomond Shores.
