There can be no doubting where the best performance in the area came from this week. Stirling Albion scored five goals away at Brechin City in a game that was one-way traffic from beginning to end.

With goals from Leitch after 21 minutes, as well as Wilson at 47, Ryan at 49, Roberts at 58, and Byrne at 66, the game was a spectacle and truly over by half time.

Charlie Tefler saved Falkirk’s chance of taking home points with an 88-minute equalizer

Falkirk went 1-0 in front versus Partick Thistle early in their game with a 13-minute goal from Penrice. Two quick goals in the second half though, from Cardle (66) and Graham (68) put Thistle ahead. It wasn’t until the 88th minute when Charlie Telfer came up for Falkirk, scoring a late-game finisher to let his side walk away with a point.

Hearts of Midlothian maintained momentum with a home 2-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Tynecastle where goals from Naismith and Boyce were enough to hold off anything that Cali threw.

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson said: “It’s probably not one of our better ones but I always had a concern about this game, going into it after such a high from last week and the semi-final and getting the result against Hibs. We knew we had to get ourselves back up for it. Some good finishes. We’ve managed to get the result, which is great.”

Hearts scraped by with a 2-1 victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Hearts, with a win in hand, are now only a point behind Raith Rovers and Dunfermline at the top of the table.

On the other side of Edniburgh Hibs found themselves defeated 2-0 at Pittodrie where Wright and Cosgrove grabbed early goals for the reds and made it a lot more comfortable for themselves than what Hibs would have wished.

After the game Hibs boss Jack Ross said: “It was nowhere near good enough. We gave away two ridiculously soft goals. We huffed and puffed after that but didn’t do nearly enough to trouble Joe Lewis in goal.

I praise the players a lot but I’ll be hard on them tonight because we were poor. I was poor and my team was poor, but equally, the referee was poor.”

Alloa were involved in a cracking spectacle against Dundee.

In a game that saw both sides score three times, it’s the Wasps of Alloa who will be kicking themselves the most having been up 3-1 before letting it all slip away.

The Dee’s came firing back on all cylinders and with goals from Cammy Kerr at 76 minutes and Charlie Adams, who slotted a fine left-footed penalty on the 84th minute.

This gave Dundee a well-earned point from a game that looked hard to get anything from 30 minutes previous.
