Hibernian FC have decided to bring some light to the Lothians this Christmas with a charity campaign to raise money for NHS workers.
Whether it’s holding someone’s hand when they need comforted, wearing PPE for long, busy shifts, or providing complex care to patients at home, Hibs wanted to help Edinburgh residents show their gratitude.
Hibs are launching a new charity campaign to support NHS staff
Head of marketing Greg McEwan said: “Our NHS Lothian staff provide a high level of care to all of their patients. As the official charity for NHS Lothian, we work in partnership with our NHS colleagues to ensure that the experience of patients receiving that care reflects those same high standards, providing funding and support for projects that are not normally funded by the NHS but can help make a huge difference to patients, carers, families and the staff themselves.”
Christmas is a time for families to come together and create special memories but sadly many have lost loved ones through COVID-19 and other illnesses over the past twelve months.
Working with Edinburgh and Lothian Health Foundation (ELHF) the football team have produced a Tree of Lights where fans can leave a message for a loved one or our NHS heroes and frontline workers whilst making a donation to the ELHF.
“
Our NHS Lothian staff provide a high level of care to all of their patients.”
Donations will help put in place initiatives to support staff and help them deal with the adverse emotional and physical effects that this pandemic has had and will continue to have for a long time to come, directing funds where they are needed most and making the greatest difference possible to the 24,000 NHS workers in Edinburgh and Lothians.
Donations can be made on the Hibs website.
