Wrestling in Scotland has seen an inexorable rise in popularity this past decade, with promoters like Mark Dallas bringing the sport firmly into the mainstream. But Dallas’s company Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) has also found itself at the middle of a controversy this year, after multiple female wrestlers came forward with harrowing accounts of sexual violence against them by other wrestlers.
With the Me Too movement gaining ground in Scotland, Central Scope takes a look at this traditionally masculine sport to examine whether it has a future here and what it means to be a man in the 21st century.
