But, everyone has bad patches as well. If you’re in a bad patch, then notice and acknowledge it. A bad patch usually happens when the stupid brain is in control and is trying to shut down the smart mind.
- If study is stressing you: recognize this. Step back from study to see if you can see why. There is nothing to gain from deciding to “try harder”. If something isn’t working, doing it even more can’t help you. Actually it can and will make things worse.
- If something about your studies is freaking out the stupid brain, then you are better to pause. Do something different – go chat with friends, walk round the loch, ring home, anything that might be interesting. Because interesting kick starts the smart mind and silences the stupid brain.
- Seek support!
