PERSONAL PROFILE
I am Digital Technologies Coordinator for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities which is part of the University of Stirling and comprises five Faculty. My responsibilities involve all aspects of Faculty IT, Teaching and Learning Support, from the day to day running of the Teaching Labs within the Faculty of Arts to systems administration of Faculty printing servers, network share folders and online CMS admin. I also give students help with software and hardware problems within the lab facilities; I also help students with the various software packages on the lab PCs.
I demonstrate how to use the equipment that is used by the students on their course projects.

I am also the content management administrator for the numerous WordPress installations currently running on the web space. This involves creating, disabling, deleting websites and user accounts. It also involves making sure that all relevant accounts have the correct user rights for their web space. I also help train staff and students on how to create and work within the WordPress environment. I also run the backup strategy for the web server.

I give students help and support with software and hardware problems within the lab facilities;
I help students with the various Adobe CC software packages within the rooms. I demonstrate how to use the equipment that will be used within the students teaching environment and throughout their courses within the faculty.

I give limited help to students on the radio/video production course when needed as I have a working knowledge of the software packages used in this teaching.

I maintain the Faculty’s computer resources and give advice on the software usage within the Faculty and help with the installation and rebuilding of the Faculty PCs. I am the first line support for any Computer/MAC related problems within the Faculty. I give staff help with the installation of software and the upgrading of PCs or Macs. I am one of the Faculty Web Site Administrators and help staff with Blackboard course management system. I help with the daily term time issuing of various media creation equipment that students will use on their courses.

I am the hardware support tech for the Faculty from all bespoke new build machines to all upgrades and perform fault finding and repair of PC and Mac systems. I also liaise with external vendors on various aspects of IT from problem solving to advice on procurement of hardware/software as and when required.

• Performing installation, configuration, administration and upgrades of all Windows operating systems, Windows server 2012 R2, Apple systems and Linux machines.
• Management of all aspects of hardware configuration and maintenance.
• Performing troubleshooting of hardware devices, providing corrective action where required.
• Ability to design network infrastructure and directory services infrastructure
• Administering and upgrading all customized Faculty software and databases.
