And All That Jazz!

Do you close your eyes at night and dream of your name in lights on Broadway? Do you boss those high notes of Defying Gravity in the shower? Does the thought of a ticket to see Hamilton send shivers down your spine? Good. You are in the right place!

University can be pretty tough, particularly if you had dreams of rising to on-stage stardom but ended up in a 9am lecture on a Monday morning. The glitz and glamour of the West End may seem a million miles away whilst dreams of reading scripts are replaced with realities of late night library sessions and a LOT of googling.

But fear not – your dreams are not yet completely shattered! The Stirling Musical Theatre Society are commited to waving those jazz hands all over campus, giving triple-threat stars in the making a chance to switch the library for lycra!

A group bursting with personality, pride and power – the society, made up from students of all ages and modes of study, are doing everything they can to ensure that life IS a cabaret in Stirling.

The society is made up of a healthy mix of leading guys and dolls, chorus singers, dancers and backstage heroes. They encourage anyone with any interest in musical theatre to come along and join the fun.

“SMT is a place for people who love singing/ dancing/ musicals etc. It’s also a place for people who are interested in these things but haven’t had experience and are maybe a bit shy to join in.”

Don’t spend your Thursday evenings being Les Miserables, let the sound of music steer you towards 2A13 at 7pm!

Aswell as the weekly rehearsals, the society pride themselves on the real friendships made here. Like a real life Glee club – minus Sue Sylvester – the group love meeting up out-with rehearsals and taking on pub quizzes and karaoke!
