Adagio: very reflective sounding
Presto: a real awakening after the slow start. Nice duets between wind and strings. Arresting rhythm figure.
Menuetto & Trio: jolly sounds. I get a good sense of ensemble – the parts all joining together so the players fit into the whole without losing their individual identity.
Finale (Presto): Haha – Haydn is making everyone dash. Exciting triple tonguing in the horns – quite exposed as well. One of those finales that makes you throw your hat in the air. Darker middle section but all comes bright in the end.
