About Us

The Director for the Gender Studies Research Group is Dr Darren Elliott-Smith (Senior Lecturer in Film and Gender) but works collaboratively in its focus and seeks to bring together scholars across the University who are undertaking work on Gender. A full list of affiliated colleagues is provided below and gives some sense of the diverse areas in which we can offer expert postgraduate supervision at both taught and research levels.

The Group is also closely connected to the MSc/MLitt in Gender Studies (applied) and has close affiliations with regional and local industry and third sector organisations, including:

SQIFF (Scottish Queer International Film Festival), Zero Tolerance, Creative Stirling, The Rosey Project, LEAP Sports (Leadership, Equality and Active Participation in Sports Scotland), the Glasgow Women’s Library and Category Is Books.
