Creating Clarity

Objective:  distinguish entrenched narrative from the necessary narrative

Duration:  about 35 minutes

Task 1

Pair up with a colleague from a different ICS (or a non-ICS critical thinker if available)

    • Talker: Describe your ICS (10 mins)
    • Listeners: Listen to the description and note down what you think is the key idea, the change, the research, the benefit
    • Listeners: summarise in written bullet points and then repeat back what you think is the key (research idea); the change; the research; and the (societal?) benefit (5 mins)

Swap roles (or change listeners) and repeat (15 mins)

Task 2

Feedback to whole group (5 mins) on the question:

What did you learn about your impact case study from

  1. being listened to?
  2. having key ideas interpreted back to you?
