Objective: Draft a paragraph that integrates testimonial evidence with impact claim.
Duration: 2 hours
Task 1 – Reviewing possible types of evidence
Make a list of each impact claim your case-study makes
- Use ‘Annexe A’ to review and list different types of possible evidence suitable for the impact claims you are making
- Discuss with a partner how/why this evidence might/should/does supports the claim
- Match each claim with a type(s) of evidence [and note where evidence has yet to be gathered].
- Focus specifically, for this workshop, on the claims that will be supported by testimonial evidence. Identify 1 of these claims to use in the next tasks.
Task 2 – Focusing on testimonials
- Using Stephen Kemp’s ‘Guidance on Testimonials and Statements to Corroborate Impact‘, define ‘testimonial evidence’
- Using the UoS Written Testimonial Template and Consent Form discuss with a partner what you need to ask for in relation to the specific claim.
- Discuss the best time to make your request (and share your reasons)
Task 3 – Integrating testimonial evidence into the case study narrative
- Select and read one example from Stephen Kemp’s ‘Guidance on Testimonials and Statements to Corroborate Impact‘
- Discuss what (if anything) could be learned from this example.
- Redraft a single impact claim paragraph applying what you have learned/discussed so far.
