Our Mission

The mission of Luna, the brainchild of four students at the University of Stirling, is to provide news, profiles, and insights on our world through a no-bullshit lens. In the era of Donald Trump and the hate his administration has spread throughout America and the world, we wanted to create a space in which people can escape the negativity while remaining informed. We aim to inform the public about world events, while still maintaining positivity in order to uplift people. Our blog is a safe space for anyone under the LGBT umbrella and all sexualities, gender identities, and lifestyles are respected here. We aim to shine a spotlight on exceptional people serving their communities and fighting against systemic oppression, societal norms, and injustices of all types. By highlighting those people, we hope to inspire those who may be afraid to speak up or take action.

We want to bring attention to issues and identities that are ignored or forgotten in mainstream society, and try to do as much justice as we can to those identities and issues.

The blog consists of current events articles through a feminist lens, profiles of extraordinary women, social commentaries, videos, and spotlights on issues and groups that are rarely talked about. We focus on wide big-picture things as well as focusing in on smaller, macro-level things. In this way, we hope to provide a somewhat comprehensive view of the world we live in, with a few laughs and good vibes for when your mind gets tired and you don’t want to deal with the heavy stuff anymore.

Among the four of us on the Luna team, we have four unique perspectives that we apply to the things we write about. We welcome comments and feedback from our readers, who undoubtedly have a wide range of perspectives that the four of us lack. We hope you feel safe, respected, and welcome here.
