The original ‘Halloween’ is returning to cinemas for one night only!

 

With the official 40-year anniversary since the release of John Carpenters ‘Halloween’ in 1978 looming it seems apt that there be some way of marking out this spooktacular event for any fans of the cult classic.

For those of you in the know, Halloween is one of the biggest and most popular Horror franchises in the world, with a bordering on a cult-like following of fans all around the world.  And for those of you who don’t know, without any spoilers, it is a horror movie which follows the murderous rampage of a character called Michael Myers.

The film helped to lay the foundation of the‘slasher’ genre within horror causing it to be one of the most imitated horror films and has undoubtedly created one of the most terrifying and recognised movie psychopaths of all time.

With this anniversary of 40 years, there was bound to be a large number of people wanting some way to celebrate this classic and cinema’s all over the world are helping to make this a reality. From Vue cinema’s to Cineworlds around the country there will be a special showing of the original movie on October 10, that’s tonight!

If you had any doubt about the scale of love and adoration this movie has gathered over the years, doubt no more as the not only are cinemas in the UK going to be screening Halloween but indeed cinemas all over the world, in over 20 different countries to be exact.

The anniversary screening comes nine days before the release of a completely new Halloween movie which features Jamie-Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie Strode and Nick Castle reprising his role of Myers.

The new Halloween is released worldwide on the 19th of October, ten days before the actual 40-year anniversary.
