The Scottish Magazines Network (SMN) is a research network funded by the AHRC, in partnership with the National Library of Scotland. It brings together scholars of Scottish literature, history, politics and publishing to study independent magazine culture of the 1960s-90s.
Through its blogs, podcasts, events and publications the network aims to produce new knowledge about these cultural and political magazines, and their role in shaping the Scotland of today.
The project ran across 2021, and produced FLYTE magazine as a showcase of its work.
